Research Group of Edification and Patrimony (GREiP)

The Research Group of Edification and Patrimony -GREiP- is formed by professors from the Departments of Architectural Construction II, Architectural Representation and Management and was recognised by Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in 2004. Its research is focused on Edification and built and cataloged Architectural Heritage, and their working lines consider the study of this artistic architectural style, like the research of the areas such as modeling, durability, maintenance and global quality of the building.

Objectives

The principal objective of the research group is the technological interpretation of the built heritage and its integration in the urban territory.

The principal research line in GREiP are:

  • Graphical surveying of built architectural heritage by diverse graphic representation techniques and the application of new technologies.
  • Cataloguing of the built architectural heritage based on historic memory and the graphic representation techniques used on them.
  • Dissemination of the built architectural heritage by ICT tools.
  • Elaboration of improvement techniques for the built heritage management.
  • Development of new constructive systems by the design of low environmental impact products from the use of recycled materials.
  • Proposal of constructive solutions under criterion of energy efficiency in the buildings' life cycle.
  • Contribution to the definition of teorethical models of the capacity of response in structural elements.
