Research in representation and modelling of Architecture and teaching innovation in Architecture by the Departament of Architectural Representation, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech (UPC),

The department organizes mainly its research in the research group Architecture, Design: Representation and Modelling (ADR&M) (2017 SGR 931 GRC), structured into two research lines. The first research line, "The expression of the architectural project. Analysis and evolution" (EDPA) is focused on the analysis of the relationships established between the graphic language and the architecture project, from its historical evolution to its present. The second research line, "Modeling and Visual Simulation in Architecture" (MSVA), focuses on how the fundamental concepts inherent to the area of graphic architectural expression can be enriched or modified from the recent evolution of the technology.

 

These two main research lines are developed through the Interuniversity doctoral program in Architectural, Civil and Urban Heritage and Refurbishment of Existing Buildings.

 

Several academic of the departament are also involved in the research groups Ars Picta (2017 SGR 1714 GRC), GRETEL Grup de REcerca en Technology Enhanced Learning (2017 SGR 934 GRPRE), CPSV Centre de Política de Sòl i Valoracions (2017 SGR 1534 GRC), AIEM Arquitectura, Energia i Medi Ambient (2017 SGR 321 GRC) and GAT Grup d'Arquitectura i Tecnologia (2017 SGR 349 GRE).

 

Also participates in the research club GREiP Grup de Recerca d’Edificació i Patrimoni which is focused on Building and built and cataloged Architectural Heritage, which integrates the HEAC (HEritage Achieve of Catalonia) inside the EPSEB's Library plus the Gaudí Workshop, a research center dedicated to study Antoni Gaudí's Heritage.

In the field of educational research in architecture, the department participates in the lobby of the ICE GILDA - Group for Innovation and Logistics in Architecture Teaching.

 

The Research Portal in Architecture provides a shared vision of research in the field of Architecture by UPC researchers.

 

The UPC scientific production portal FUTUR offers all the academic information of UPC's researchers and gives access to the results of its scientific and technical production.
